On October 18, 2024, PrimeBMD held its Safety Day at Hinulugang Taktak, Antipolo City, with the theme “A Focus on Safety Leadership and OSH Excellence.” Set in the backdrop of one of the Philippines’ most treasured national parks, the event underscored PrimeBMD’s unwavering dedication to workplace safety and its vision of creating a Zero Harm culture across all operations.
The day kicked off with an opening address from CEO Justin Devantier, who shared the importance of safety leadership and collective responsibility in embedding a culture of safety-first thinking. “At PrimeBMD, safety isn’t just a policy—it’s a mindset we cultivate across every level of our organization,” he noted. “Our leaders have a duty to champion safe decision-making, and each individual is accountable for ensuring that safety is at the forefront of every action.”
Engaging Seminars and Booth Activities
To reinforce the key message of shared responsibility, the event was designed to be highly interactive, featuring educational booths staffed by PrimeBMD’s various project teams. Each booth provided an in-depth exploration of critical safety issues, allowing employees to engage with topics relevant to their daily operations. The eight booths covered:
- Environmental Hazard Awareness – emphasizing the identification and mitigation of potential environmental risks on job sites.
- Equipment Care Safety Awareness – focusing on the proper maintenance and handling of equipment to avoid accidents.
- Line of Fire Safety Awareness – highlighting the importance of staying clear of high-risk areas in dynamic work environments.
- Security and Theft Awareness – addressing methods to prevent theft and ensure secure job sites.
- Lifting and Rigging Safety Awareness – detailing best practices for safely lifting and securing heavy loads.
- Safe Driving Awareness – providing guidance on safe driving behaviors, particularly in construction zones.
- Marine Fleet Safety Operations Awareness – stressing the importance of safety in marine environments, especially in relation to PrimeBMD’s marine projects.
- Safe Working Near or Over Water Awareness – offering strategies for mitigating the risks associated with water-adjacent or water-based work.
Each booth demonstrated PrimeBMD’s commitment to practical, real-world safety training and fostered a collaborative learning environment among teams.

A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
As the day drew to a close, Justin Devantier addressed the participants with inspiring closing remarks. Reflecting on the event’s theme, he said:
“Safety leadership is about creating a culture where every individual has the power and responsibility to contribute to our shared safety goals. It is not limited to formal positions of authority—it is about taking ownership. Excellence in safety and productivity go hand in hand. As we strive for operational excellence, we must be relentless in our pursuit of safety, even as the year draws to an end.”
